One of My Favourite Things

SPLASH, SPLASH, SPLASH!  Weeeeee!!!!!! ARRRRH!!!! As Erin and I went down the pitch black part of the water slide. ‘Wow look at that I screamed,’ as I pointed at the big end part of the water slide going straight up and straight down! “I  do not think I want to do this now  ARRRRH” yelled Erin.  ‘A bit too late,’ I said ‘ARRRRRRRRRRRRRH!!’ we both said as we went straight up and straight back down and all the way  to the finish line. ‘Woohoo let’s do it again, wow! Ouch oh no I just fell over ha ha oh well l had fun let’s do it again and again until we get bored.’ I said ‘Yeah ok let’s do it.’ said Erin.  By Charlie

Football

A game played between two teams of five players in which goals are scored by throwing a ball through a hoop at each end of the court.

Basketball originated in 1891 when a future minister named James Naismith was assigned to teach a physical education class at a training school in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA

Basketball is a fast paced game that is a game for all ages. I like basketball because it’s fun and a thrilling game with close finishes. It’s also a great game when you have your mates by your side playing every game with you and there to back you up.

This is why I love the great game of basketball and always will. Hope you enjoyed

MY SPECIAL PLACE

Tug! Tug!  As something pulls on my line, after what seems to be a long time of fishing with no action.  I’m now getting excited that there maybe a fish on the end of my line.

I’m in my special chair, at my special place, which is Spavin Drive Lake.  It’s normally a very quite place, but today it’s crowed with lots of people trying to catch fish, to win a fishing competition.

Grandma, Grandpa, Mum, Dad & my little brother came to watch and see how many fish I could catch.  Dad and Grandpa had a secret plan to catch fish.  They had special bait “Chunky Cheese” power bait.

The fish must of though it was special as Splish, Splash, Splosh; I caught 3 fish in a row.  Everyone came running over to see me, as I was the only one catching any fish.

At the end of the day, and the competition we had WON!!

It was a special day, as I won a gift voucher for La Porchetta.

Hook, Line & Sinker at my special place.

NAPLAN

The NAPLAN test is just around the corner. It is not that difficult. As the test is about the knowledge you already have. So don’t put stress on yourself. The subjects are easy, which are reading, writing, maths, English and grammar. So for those grade 3’s’ out there, try and focus on NAPLAN and don’t get distracted because you are against the timer.

My Favourite AFL Football Team

GOAL!! As we kick away, my favourite football team is Hawthorn (The Hawks) because of the way they move the ball and kick goals. Did you see the Hawks beat the Kangaroos at Etihad Stadium by 60 points. I was so close to getting the special prize from Matt Suckling. They pick someone in the crowd and I thought he was coming to me but ended up being the girl next to me. That`s alright there is plenty more games. The season has only just started. Last year I was picked from the crowd by Luke Hodge Captain of the Hawks and given a signed football by him. They have won back to back premierships and hoping to win this year as well. So that’s why I go for the Hawks.

My Trip to Canberra

On the 7 March 2015 we went on a big long trip to Canberra.  It took us around six hours to arrive at the campsite with loads of other people we didn’t know. That day we walked a few metres to the river next to us, we found heaps of jagged, sharp and thin slate. After we went to Questacon and we explored all of the 18 places full of interesting things. It was very cool, but let’s move on. That night we went to Old Parliament House to look at the projected images on it. That night we slept in our camper trailer. The next day we went to the War Memorial. We had a look at the world war one part and it was very long. It took us about 120 minutes to finish that, and we tried to move on to the Afghanistan part but it was closing. The next day we went to new Parliament House. But the government wasn’t sitting. So we had to go home that night. The trip home was horrible.

I rate this holiday 5/8

ANZAC DAY -100 years

“Crack”, the bullets fly around their heads. The ANZAC’s have landed in Gallipoli, Turkey and it is the 25th April 1915, during World War 1. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps and it is now 100 years later.

Our class discovered some interesting facts about the Anzac tradition.

We found out that the right side of the slouch hat is always turned up, because when the soldiers march, they look to the right with their eyes.

We also learnt about ANZAC biscuits. Families in Australia sent them overseas to their fighting loved ones because they didn’t easily go stale in the long trip. The biscuits were first called Soldier’s Biscuits but after the landing on Gallipoli, they were renamed ANZAC biscuits.

Simpson and his donkey were famous at Gallipoli in World War 1. Simpson carried wounded soldiers on his donkey to safety and he rescued over 300 men in 24 days this way.

This year is the 100th year since ANZAC’s landed on ANZAC Cove in Gallipoli. We remember all of the people who were killed or injured serving their country in all wars on Anzac Day.

LEST WE FORGET.

Movie Review- Avengers Age of Ultron

I saw an amazing movie called Avengers Age Of Ultron 26th of April 2015 with my step father Rick. I was very lucky because I got to get a lemonade and popcorn. The Characters were Ultron, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Hawk Eye and much more. My favourite part was funny because a very fast guy like the Flash raced into a police station got a gun and told them to help in a rude way.

The story was about a robot called Ultron wanting to destroy the human race and create his own. Tony Stark/Iron Man created Ultron and wanted him to become a Avenger but that didn’t work out, because he thought machines were better then humans.

I loved Age of Ultron. I give this movie 9 out of 10.
